More Than a Name.
Your name has a sound. But your story gives it meaning.
KanjiMe creates custom Japanese calligraphy based on your name and the person behind it. Each piece is hand-brushed and made into a Kakejiku in Japan.
We Start by Getting to Know You
Before we choose a single character, we want to understand you.
- The origin and meaning behind your name
- Your personality and individuality
- The values you hold most
- The experiences that have shaped you
- How you'd like that story to be expressed
Finding Your Kanji
One character begins with the sound of your name. We choose a Kanji that fits both the sound and its meaning. The remaining characters come from what you tell us about yourself and what matters most to you.
Your Kanji. Your Decision.
We do not begin creating your artwork until you are happy with your Kanji and give your approval.
Before production, you'll receive your Kanji proposal, its reading, its meaning, and why it was selected — all explained in English, so you can confirm it feels right to you.
Handcrafted in Japan
Once your Kanji is approved, it is hand-brushed in Japan and carefully crafted into a traditional Kakejiku hanging scroll.
It is not a mass-produced print. It is a piece of Japanese calligraphy created from your own story.
The Story Beside the Art
Your finished Kakejiku comes with your Kanji Story — an English explanation of each character's reading, meaning, and why it was chosen for you.
